New Food Network Reality Show Features OC Contestants

So the Food Network is close to debuting a food competition show called The Worst Cooks In America on January 3rd. Yes, if the Bravo show is called Top Chef, this would have to be referred to as Bottom Chef.

But here's my question: How hard is it to find a bad cook, really? You'd think that they'd be the norm, not the exception. It's like looking for the worst figure skaters, which would be most of us.

The concept takes a group of, er, people and puts them into two teams which then compete against each other with two professional coaches in the form of Anne Burrell and Beau MacMillian (two Food Network personalities I hadn't yet heard of) rooting them onward. There will most likely be tearful eliminations and standard reality show drama. In the end, the winner gets $25,000.  (Congrats!  You suck the least!)

I'm thinking that this might play out like that Dancing With The Stars (I am not admitting I watch it…often) spin off Dance Wars, except with fewer flailing limbs, and more knife mishaps. Hmm, on second thought, perhaps it *will* be interesting TV.

One other noteworthy thing: Two of the contestants are from O.C. (Brea and Aliso Viejo).

So there you go O.C., more for the rest of the world to see what we're about: spoiled Laguna Beach rich kids, materialistic Coto De Caza housewives, and now, two bad cooks from Brea and Aliso Viejo.
