The Hill newspaper is reporting today that Costa Mesa Congressman Dana Rohrabacher switched a budget vote this week because he feared the political consequences of not voting in lockstep with Orange County's other Republicans in the House of Representatives.
According to the Washington, D.C.-based paper, Rohrabacher told his GOP colleagues in a closed door meeting that he'd been a “chickenshit” and a “coward” for not voting his conscience.
The 12-term representative won't get much argument back in his district. He's big on reckless military interventions nowadays. But didn't have the nerve to serve in the armed forces when he was eligible during the Vietnam War.

So, the new chickenshit moniker goes nicely with his chickenhawk status.
