Register Mickadeit Column is a Real Blowjob

Don't be surprised if Orange County Register local columnist Frank Mickadeit's piece the ran over the weekend becomes the all-time leader in online page views.

It's not that the topic–the Barrett-Jackson car auction at the fairgrounds in Costa Mesa–was that compelling. No, strong traffic can be expected from Google searches of the term “B-J in the O.C.”

That's because the original headline read, “B-J in the O.C. was a huge hit.”

Cooler, uh, heads ultimately prevailed and changed it to “B-J car auction in the O.C. was a
huge hit,”
but the original headline still appears on the page tab, right next to the Register logo.

Now, the Santa Ana braintrust can write this off as an innocent mistake–or call out those calling out the headline as having dirty minds.

Guilty, your honor!

But, someone did change the headline, so the double entendre was obviously not lost on everyone.

It certainly was not lost on some readers who left comments on the column–well, at least based on the comments that the Register has not already deleted.

“Wow! 'BJ Car Auction Big Hit in OC', and I only thought that the Bunny
Ranch in Pharummph [had] the monopoly to provide those kind of services!
Orange County is moving right along . . .,” writes “ImaCobru.”

“Yep . . . b-j's in Orange County ARE better than elsewhere,” confirms “AreaMan714.”

“A B-J anywhere is a big hit,” notes “Robert707.”

Ah, well, at least they're not bashing Mexicans for a change.
