While the Glass House isn't a Goldenvoice venue, it is owned by Goldenvoice president Paul Tollett (and the owner of Coachella). “So historically at the Glass House–more so than any other venue in LA–we've had the opportunity to do secret Coachella shows to give bands an opportunity to warm up for the festival,” says Jon Halperin, who books the Glass House. “Especially this year, with the two weekends selling out, it was an
opportunity to keep the bands busy in between the days and give them
extra shows and a couple of extra dollars,” he adds.

Although Coachella shows almost always sell out, the Refused show is pretty special for the Glass House. “Refused has only played California once, and that was at the Showcase Theater in Corona as an opening band,” Halperin explains. “They were booked at Chain Reaction in Anaheim once, and the band broke up halfway through the tour and never made it out.”
