Ramon Heredia, the Orange County father of four who copped in March to smashing a beer bottle into the head of a fellow Dallas Cowboys fan in San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium parking lot after a loss to the Chargers, was sentenced today to probation, jail time already served and 400 hours of community service.

Judge Jeffrey Fraser noted Heredia's remorse for the Sept. 29, 2013, attack on Joshua Zumwalt, who had a Dez Bryant Cowboys jersey covering the top half of his 6-foot-5 frame, as well as the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking too much alcohol at NFL games. Both Heredia and Zumwalt had apparently put away several before, during and after the 'Boys' 30-21 loss to the Bolts.
“You're very lucky [Zumwalt] wasn't hurt,” Fraser told Heredia, according to City News Service courtroom reporter Kelly Wheeler's coverage of sentencing in the felony assault with a deadly weapon case.
Without the guilty plea–and presumably the remorse–42-year-old Heredia was looking at up to four years on the state-prison bench.
