Orange County public health officials are warning residents to steer clear of bats, be aware that an untreated bite from a rabid bat is nearly always fatal and contact the county Health Care Agency if you come in contact with one of Master Bruce Wayne's cousins.
This comes after a rabid bat was found in a San Juan Capistrano neighborhood.
]
There are no reports anyone was bitten by the bat discovered Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. near Village and Marina Roads.
However, parents have been urged to ask their children if they encountered the
bat while walking home from school or playing in the area.
If you came in contact with a bat, call the
Orange County Health Care Agency at 714. 834.8180.
A nurse on the other end of the line can
determine your risk of having contracted rabies and/or becoming a bloodthirsty creature of the night.
