Cirque du Soleil, the performing-arts troupe that now boasts more than 20 visually explosive shows, brings Quidam to Long Beach this week only. Zoe, an imaginatively overactive youth whose parents have about as much presence in her life as the adults in Peanuts, decides to dive deep into a make-believe world instead of drudging along in reality. There, she meets the usual Cirque assortment of fantastical characters—contortionists, acrobats and only slightly creepy clowns—and the result is a whirlwind of extraordinary feats to delight young and old alike.
