Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival Starts Today!

It's here again. The Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival is this weekend. It last three days (September 12, 13, and 14) and will feature music acts, and of course, Maine lobster mals for $20, which will come with coleslaw, potatoes, sweet bread, lemon wedges, and some sort of butter sauce for dipping.

Since its debut in 1999, the festival has set numerous of the Guinness World Records, including one for the Most Seafood Served at an Outdoor Event in 2009. And then there was last year, where it set three world records in one day:

– The most lobsters cooked simultaneously in the same cooker: 950

– The largest serving of lobster: 1,126 lb 8.8 oz (510.99 kg)

– And the most lobsters served in 8 hours: 9,060

So there's that.

If you've always wanted to go to a Guinness record holder for anything, this one's the one you need to go to this weekend. Tickets are $10 ($9 if you use a coupon), but the bibs are probably free.
