We're sad to say that the local punk scene just suffered a major loss just a couple days ago. Police are investigating the death of Steven Pratt, drummer of OC punk band Poop, who may have suffered from blunt force trauma after an altercation with an unidentified man in a Fullerton rehearsal studio. Just before 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, officers were called to the 1100 block of East Elm Avenue near Raymond, the Register reports.
]
Poop, formed in 1993, includes vocalist Shott Hoogland, bassist Jacob
Batch, and guitarists Mike Silva, Jayson Kern and Danny Kaye.
Authorities say there was no evidence of a robbery or that there were
weapons involved. Detectives are trying to determine if Pratt's death
was a result of blunt force trauma but are awaiting autopsy results.
Given that the time the two men were discovered, it appears to have been
a really late night for both of them before the incident took place.
Police are still looking for witnesses and no arrests have been
reported. Below, we dug up a video of Pratt playing with his band last
month at Banana's in Fullerton. Regardless of what happened, the local
community has definitely suffered the loss of another great drummer.
