Police Seek Creeper Who Grabbed at Brea Olinda High Girls Cross-Country Runners

A white man about 30 years old and 5-foot-9 with an average build, light brown hair and brown eyes is probably a pretty common sight in Brea. This particular fellow was even wearing the usual OC yuppie uniform: button-down dress shirt and khaki pants. But what he's wanted for has prompted police to step up patrols around Brea Olinda High School.

Two girls–ages 15 and 17–were training for the cross-country team on Birch Street just west of North Associated Road about 2:30 p.m. Monday when they were approached by a man walking east on Birch. As the girls neared him, he held out both arms, Brea police Sgt. Jim Griffin told City News Service.

The older teen managed to escape the fellow's grasp, but he yelled at the 15-year-old to stop and then grabbed her by the arm, Griffin reportedly said.

She shoved him away, and both girls ran about a mile to the Brea police station to report the creeper. Anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts is asked to call Brea police at 714.990.7624.
