Pho & Bánh Mì Eating Contest At This Weekend’s Tet Festival

At this upcoming weekend’s Tet Festival at the OC Fair & Event Center, you will have plenty of opportunities to overstuff yourselves with Vietnamese food, but for some, it will mostly be pho and bánh mì. The festival will host both a pho and a banh mi eating contest with prizes such as a new HDTV, iPod Nano’s and banh mi for a year from Lee’s.

The object of the Bánh Mì Eating Contest is to be the fastest person to finish (2) 10-inch Lee’s sandwiches. The winner will be the person who consumes all (2) sandwiches entirely – each includes meat, pickles, veggies, and bread.

The winner of the Pho Contest will be the fastest to consume all of the meats and noodles in the pho soup and drink all of the broth.

The deadline for entering either contest has passed, but since you want your stomach space for the other food you’ll want to try at the three-day event, it’s probably a lot more fun to watch than participate.

Check out the tetfestival.org website for contest times and locations.

The fstival hours are:

Friday, February 12: 4PM – 11PM
Saturday, February 13: 11AM – 11PM
Sunday, February 14: 11AM – 10PM

Admission is $6 at the door. Watching the contests? Free. See you there!
