The Orange County district attorney's office on Monday filed DUI charges against Lake Forest City Councilman Peter Herzog, who is accused of driving with a blood-alcohol content more than twice the legal limit.
“Hey, Cokehead, doesn't Lake Forest close medical-marijuana clinics with gusto?”
Indeed.

As we reported at the time, the 57-year-old, who has been on the council since 1994 and rotated seats six times to serve as mayor, was popped in November near his hacienda.
Peter Herzog, Lake Forest City Councilman, Busted for DUI
Witnesses saw a motorist
driving erratically just before 8:20 p.m. on Nov. 17 near Lake Forest Drive and
Regency Lane and followed the car less than a mile to Herzog's home on Coventry
Lane. Arriving Orange County sheriff's deputies
arrested him on suspicion of drunken driving, and after a night in the Santa Ana jail, he was released.
The sheriff's department, which patrols the city of Lake
Forest under a contract Herzog and
his dais mates negotiate, did not inform the public or media about the councilman's arrest for three weeks. Meanwhile, they invited us to ride along on dispensary raids. And so it goes.
Herzog is scheduled to be arraigned March 14 on a DUI count that claims he blew 0.18 percent when the legal limit in California is 0.08 percent. (REPORTER'S NOTE: Charges were filed Jan. 24, according to OCDA.)
