Did anyone else get a load of the major makeover Orange County Supervisor Patricia Bates just got?
And it was so quick, too!
The opener page shows the Fifth District supe, who also goes by Pat, speaking with a KABC/Channel 7 Eyewitness News reporter in Trabuco Canyon. Residents received a letter from Orange County Public Works stating that the Wagon Wheel community's Christmas lights, which are anchored on multiple houses and suspended overhead, violate the county code and must come down by today.
Bates stepped in to save the twinkling spectacle that's been a five-year tradition in the neighborhood, creating the perfect, mucho visual, feel-good holiday story for La-La Land teevee news cameras.
But something even more amazing happened between KABC's 6 p.m. Tuesday newscast and KTLA/Channel 5's four hours later. All that holiday cheer, combined perhaps with the handiwork of Newport Beach's best plastic surgeons, rewarded Bates with a stunning makeover that was still being displayed during this morning's KTLA newscasts:
Our thanks to Bates' Chief of Staff Kristen Camuglia for assistance in the production of this blog post.
