A jury in Westminster today found self appointed pastor James Ray Guerrero guilty of sexually assaulting two young boy relatives at “church” meetings and Bible studies in his home.
That sets 54-year-old James Ray Guerrero of Westminster up for a possible maximum sentence of 123 years to life in state prison, according to prosecutors.

Beginning when each boy was 12 or 13, The self-appointed pastor repeatedly assaulted them sexually from 2006 to 2009 when they were brought to church services or Bible studies in Guerrero's home, which attracted as many as 40 congregants. He masturbated the boys, showed them porn and attempted sodomy on one of them.
Guerrero warned both boys not to tell anyone what had happened, but one informed family members after reaching age 15. That led to a Westminster Police Department investigation that produced the second victim.
The jury convicted Guerrero today of eight felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14, one felony count of distributing pornography to a minor, and sentencing enhancement allegations for substantial sexual conduct with a child and lewd acts on more than one child.
His sentencing is set for Feb. 14, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office. Yep, Valentine's Day.
