It's a busy week for the Greater Orange County Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children (GOCPOMC).
Through Sunday, Ruby's Diners in Irvine, Tustin, Anaheim, Fullerton and Huntington Beach are donating to the organization 20 percent of all food sales rung up for customers who bring a special flier to the restaurant. And on Saturday, GOCPOMC and Crime Survivors, Inc. team up for solemn ceremony at Huntington Beach Pier Plaza.
]
Ruby's diners are to present the fliers to their server upon ordering for GOCPOMC to receive the credit. Email go*****@ya***.com and ask for a copy of the flier.
Among the participating Ruby's is the diner at the end of Huntington Beach Pier, at 1 Main St. Parking validation is offered for the lot at Main and Walnut Street.
The same area is the site of Saturday's National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. Survivor resource organizations staff booths from 4-8 p.m., and a ceremony for victims begins promptly at 6 p.m.
Family members are encouraged to bring a pair of their loved one's shoes so they may be symbolically and respectfully displayed. Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
If you'd like to volunteer, phone Marie at 562.508.2397 or Patricia at 949.872.7895. GOCPOMC.org has more details about these and other chapter activities.
