Long Beach born and raised Palmer Luckey–who proved there is life beyond journalism when he left his web editor position at Cal State Long Beach's Daily 49er to invent the Oculus Rift–revealed this week that his virtual-reality headset will not block adult content.

Speaking at the Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Conference in San Jose on Monday, Luckey was asked whether his company would block adult content.
“The Rift is an open platform,” the 22-year-old answered. “We don't control what software can run on it.”
This prompted CNET's Chris Matyszczyk to wade through the Oculus Terms of Service.
“I could find no specific reference to porn,” he reports.
He did, however, find this: “We reserve the right, in our sole discretion and where technically feasible, to disable your access to Content that we believe presents a health and safety risk or violates our community standards, agreements, laws, regulations or policies.”
Neither Oculus or Facebook, which acquired Oculus VR for $2 billion and cash last year, has provided Matyszczyk with a list of these community standards.
So maybe you'll grip a joystick with the Rift after all.
