Oktoberfest

Yes, going back to school sucks, but with the fall season also comes the annual return of Oktoberfest, that famous festival of all things German. Back for it's 33rd year, Huntington Beach's Old World Village hosts the cultural bacchanalia through the end of October, but why wait? There's live Oompah bands direct from the motherland, the inescapable chicken dance and busty blondes carrying towering beer steins. Sundays boast wiener dog races but Wednesdays and Thursdays are dubbed “Family Night,” so bring the little ones for a sneak peek at what their twenties will look like. Best of all, Family Nights are free admission—which means more money for schnitzel.
