At the Los Angeles Press Club’s 60th Southern California Journalism Awards last weekend, OC Weekly’s R. Scott Moxley won three honors, including Best Columnist.

The judges wrote that Moxley Confidential represents “a classic example of good, old-fashioned muckraking and watchdog journalism.”

Moxley also won honors for News Feature (Forensic Science Deception in SoCal Murder Trials) and Personality Profile (Jailhouse Snitch Scandal Solved).

The Weekly has captured numerous LA Press Club awards over the years, including Journalist of the Year for onetime editor Gustavo Arellano as well as Moxley.

In June, Weekly reporters earned 25 awards at the Orange County Press Club’s annual dinner.
