My sincere apology, gentle readers, for being unfair: I didn't previously list all the Fullerton councilmembers who were Klan members, who participated in the burning of crosses on the lawns of political opponents and jailed them for kicks.
Last guy missing from the list? One Orrin M. Thompson.
He started good enough: an Iowa boy who moved to Fullerton in 1912, opening a auto shop in town that became immediately successful, as did his decision to buy land in which oil would be discovered.
His membership in the Klan? Not so successful.

Thompson served on the Fullerton council from 1924, the height of the Klan's power in Orange County, until 1928, when all Klucker bums were voted out of office. Too bad he couldn't remember what he submitted for Samuel Armor's history of Orange County in 1921: “both Mr. and Mrs. Thompson take a keen interest in politics, political reforms and such higher standards in civic life as can best be promoted, they believe, through nonpartisanship.”
Oh, broken political promises…
