The OC Funk Fest will incite massive amounts of booty-shaking thanks to a funk-tastic lineup led by The Bar-Kays. Originally the backing band for Otis Redding, The Bar-Kays suffered a tragic loss when many of their members perished along with Redding during a fatal plane crash. The remaining members regrouped and forged ahead, and fifty years and thirty albums later they continue to rock audiences with their flamboyant style, full-bodied grooves and extensive catalogue, which includes “Soul Finger,”“Shake Your Rump to The Funk” and ‘80’s gem “Freakshow on The Dance Floor.” The OC Funk Fest also rounded up “Fantastic Voyage” masterminds Lakeside, as well as The Official Slave Band and Circle City Band. With this much funk music under one roof, you’ll likely be feeling the effects of this dance party for days.
