OC Brew Ha Ha on Saturday, September 11

So you're looking for something to do this weekend, are you? It's not summer anymore, it's a little cool for the beach, the protest against the redneck who wanted to burn the Qur'an was cancelled, and you're all dressed up with nowhere to go.

Well, fortunately, beer solves lots of problems, and there will be lots of it at the OC Brew Ha Ha, Saturday, September 11, from noon to 3 p.m. at Valley Ranch, 8800 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine.

Tickets are $35, and you can buy them until midnight tonight at the Brew Ha Ha's website; otherwise, show up tomorrow at the door, pay $40, and hope they haven't sold out. That gets you ten four-ounce pours (for the arithmetically-challenged, that's 40 oz. of beer, and for the most part we're not talking about that national-supplier pisswater, either).

Fifty-five breweries will be there, including OC locals the Bruery, Bootlegger's and Tustin Brewing; the hardest part will be figuring out where to “spend” your ten pours.

Food from BT's mobile barbecue cart, Stadium Brewing and Five Crowns/the Side Door will be available for a charge, and water and soft drinks will be complimentary.

In the spirit of remembrance, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Fallen Firefighters' Relief Fund, which provides assistance to the families of firefighters who fell in the line of duty.
