No. 34: Neff Ranch Orange Juice from That Guy at the Saturday Irvine University Center Farmer's Market

You know that guy at the Saturday farmer's market in Irvine across the street from UC Irvine, the guy who sells orange and apple juices. You know…that guy! Kind of looks like Andrew Zimmern, except more soft-spoken? Only sells apple and orange juice? Near the northern entrance? Not the Cal Poly Pomona kids? Not that other guy, or that other guy, but that guy? Can talk about his product the way Hank Hill talked about propane and propane accessories?

That guy? Sells the best orange juice in Orange County.
]

I always forget the particulars of the juice, but the oranges come from a grove in Yorba Linda, one of the last citrus groves left in the county, and is operated by Neff Ranch. It's liquid summer: no bothersome pulp, no added preservatives or sugars, no concentrate. It takes me back to the orange juice of my childhood that my dad and I used to buy from a cannery: straight from an aluminum can that had yet to get affixed with a label. Anything that can make me get nostalgic is a stunner, but drinking Neff Ranch orange juice is OC love at its finest. The apple juice is awesome as well, but those apples come from elsewhere, so don't make the cut.

And that guy? Don't know his name. But a good guy, that guy. And now, some gif!
