[UPDATED WITH ARRESTS:] Just Another Orange County Murder: Anh Tuan Nguyen

A social gathering at Saigon Towing, 13921 West St., Garden Grove, turned ugly around 8 p.m. Sunday, when an agitated man who'd twice been asked to leave stabbed another man to death, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

Based on the preliminary investigation, Khanh Van Le, 39, of
Anaheim, was told to leave the party because he was trying to start a
fight with another partygoer. But he returned on two separate
occasions, tried to cause trouble at the party and ultimately got into
a physical confrontation with a man he apparently did not know, Anh Tuan Nguyen, 37, of Long Beach, said police Capt. Mike Handfield.

Police
were called and outside Saigon Towing officers encounted Le, who
claimed he was
leaving the party after having been assaulted. He told officers his
attacker had already left and that Le did not want to press charges,
Handfield said. With that, Le was gone, but officers soon discovered
from other partygoers that the man they had just cleared had allegedly
stabbed Nguyen, Handfield said.

Then,
at about 8:15 p.m., officers were called to assist paramedics with a
man who was down in the street nearby. Officers arrived to find Nguyen
lying next to a 1998 Toyota Sienna he'd been seen driving before the
stabbing. Rescue efforts failed to save the man, who died at the scene.

Armed with a search warrant, officers went to a residence at
246 S. Florette, Anaheim, where Le was taken into custody and later
booked into Orange
County Jail on suspicion of homicide.

Officers believe Le returned the party a third time, spotted Nguyen driving away, approached him and stabbed
him in the driver's seat of the Toyota, causing the victim to fall onto the roadway. Witnesses told investigators
that Le was driven to and away from the location by a woman. His girlfriend, Thao Nguyen, was also arrested.

They are scheduled to be arraigned at the West Justice Center on Wednesday.
