The Third Annual Bloomsday on Broadway-West, 6 p.m.

Bloomsday is a commemoration observed annually on June 16 in Dublin,
Ireland and around the world to celebrate the life of Irish writer
James Joyce and relive the events in his novel Ulysses, all of which
took place on the same day in Dublin in 1904. Bloomsday involves a
range of cultural activities including Ulysses readings and
dramatizations, parades, and general merriment. Enthusiasts are
encouraged to dress in Edwardian costume and bring personal copies of
Joyce's books to read their favorite passages from. Ken O'Malley and
the Twilight Lords will headline the evening's musical entertainment.
The event will help benefit the Blind Children's Center of Los Angeles,
A family-centered agency serving children with visual impairments.

The Wallflowers, 8 p.m.

As Albert Ching put it so eloquently last issue, “The same day the Wallflowers play the House of Blues in Anaheim this week is the same day their greatest hits album, Collected: 1996-2005, is scheduled for release. A Wallflowers greatest hits album? The jokes write themselves!”
