Irvine Architect Inducted in Design Hall of Fame

Irvine architect Robert Hidey was inducted into the Wm. S. Marvin Hall of Fame for Design during the 29th annual Builder's Choice Design and Planning Awards gala recently held in Washington, D.C.

“The success of architect Robert Hidey to time and again distinguish
the homes of his merchant builder clients by ferreting out what will
resonate with buyers of each particular home or neighborhood leaves no
mystery as to why his work looks, lives, and sells better than almost
anyone else's,” reports Builder magazine.

He joins such architects as Barry Berkus and Walter Richardson in receiving the recognition.

“I am
honored and humbled to be part of the Wm. S. Marvin Hall of Fame for
Design,” Hidey says in a statement. “As we continue to pursue our mission of blending
art, history, creativity and technology in community design, this award
will motivate us to maintain our respect for practicality, and remind
us that housing can and should be both special and simple.”

Established in 1992, Robert Hidey Architects (RHA) has completed designs for more than 100 top development companies, including The Irvine
Co., Brookfield, Taylor Morrison, Easy Homes and Richmond American
Homes.

Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach were completed this year, and the firm's current work includes: Beverly West, luxury high-rise condominium
in Los Angeles; Monterrey, an entry-level multi-family project for the
Irvine Co. set to open in early 2010; and Napa Ice, which is not a malt
beverage but a luxury residential community project in Wuhan, China.

The firm has previously received awards from the Pacific
Coast Builder's Conference, Best American Living and the United States Commerce Association.
