Garden Grove Police had such a swell time at its Dec. 4 DUI checkpoint that it will have its officers “saturate” the city looking for drunks behind wheels on Friday before conducting another checkpoint on Saturday.

Friday's saturation runs from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday. The checkpoint will be at Westminster and Clinton avenues Saturday night.
Garden Grove Police Department, whose checkpoints are partially funded with state and federal grant money, also has checkpoints scheduled on Friday, Dec. 18 (at Valley View and Lampson) and Saturday, Dec. 19 (at Westminster and Bushard).
In fact, if you are driving to or from Laguna Beach on the 19th, you could run into two checkpoints. That's because the Laguna Beach Police Department is scheduled to conduct one from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday. It's the first of four DUI checkpoints planned in the beach town in upcoming months.
Laguna cops have not yet disclosed where exactly the first checkpoint will be located.
