Debut Season of TV Musical Comedy “Glee” Already DVD Bound

It seems to be loosely based on the early days of Orange County High School of the Arts, back when it first formed in the mid-1990s at Los Alamitos High School and before it moved to its current location in downtown Santa Ana. That's ironic considering Morrison attended the early OCHSA.

Fictional William McKinley High School once had a champion glee club, but it was floundering before the idealistic teacher played by Morrison (Music N Lyrics) showed up. But his attempt to convert the rag-tag team of singers and dancers into glee-club champions is complicated by a sadistic cheerleading coach played deliciously nasty by Jane Lynch (anything funny), who wants to keep all the campus glory, crowds and funding for her own program.

Glee was created by Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy, and Jessalyn Gilsig from that same program is also a Glee regular. So are such talented newcomers as Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer.

The DVD set will feature the first 13 episodes, including those yet to air, as well as the director's cut of the pilot episode, behind-the-scenes featurettes, audition videos from cast members and music/dance excerpts of the cast versions of Queen's “Somebody To Love,” Heart's “Alone,” Journey's “Don't Stop Believin',” CNline Dion's “Taking Chances,” Rihanna's “Take A Bow,” Carrie Underwood's “Last Name,” Jazmine Sullivan's “Bust Your Windows,” Kanye West's “Gold Digger” and REO Speedwagon's “Can't Fight This Feeling.”

The suggested retail price will be $39.98, according to Fox. Since it'll be past Christmas by the time it comes out, consider giving IOU's this year–and don't forget to keep one for yourself.
