Newport Beach Police have decided against extraditing Homajean “Lee” Grisham III to Orange County to answer to felony drug sales, drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession, criminal threats, terrorist threats and false imprisonment charges here.
That's because the chap at right nicknamed “Danger” is suspected of murdering his girlfriend in Alabama.

The body of 32-year-old Jessica Nicole Broadfoot was found June 28 in a pasture in Cherokee, Ala., owned by Grisham's parents. She had been beaten and stabbed to death.
Grisham was later pulled over in Muscle Shoals. Police say there was blood in his pickup and weeds stuck to the bottom of it. He allegedly helped investigators locate Broadfoot's body.
The 35-year-old was originally held on a $1.5 million bond, but that was changed to no bail when investigators determined Broadfoot was allegedly murdered in Grisham's pickup.
“We talked with officials in Newport Beach, Calif., and they are not going to ask for him to be extradited,” Colbert County Sheriff Ronnie May reportedly told Florence, Ala.'s Times Daily.
It has not been announced whether the death penalty will be sought for Grisham, but perhaps Newport Beach cops had it in mind when they declined the extradition offer. Alabama is No. 6 in carrying out executions in the U.S., with 53 performed between 1976 and 2011 (0.111 per capita). Over the same span, there were 13 in California, which is No. 31 on the list with 0.003 per capita.
