New Photo Book Project Wants Your Morrissey and the Smiths-Inspired Tattoos!

The Morrissey phenomenon manifests in annual conventions and cover bands of The Smiths, but a new book is traveling across the country in search of fans whose loyalty is inked into their skin. The forthcoming photography book To Me You Are a Work of Art is snapping shots of Moz inspired tattoos of portraits, lyrics and song titles. The project has already traveled to Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles and Toronto.

This weekend, it makes its way to OC!

The call out is looking for tats of all shapes, sizes and colors just as long as they display devotion to Morrissey and the Smiths.

“There are so many different people who make up this dedicated fan base, we wanted to try and do something that would convey that message,” says Anthony Amor who started up the project with his friend Julian Chavez. “It is as much about the people as it is their tattoos.”

Photographer Patrick Moore will be on hand this Saturday in OC. He's setting up shop at Dan Smith's Captured Tattoo parlor in Tustin from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. The owner is a life-long fan of Morrissey and the Smiths himself and is happily opening his establishment up to like-minded loyalists.

Now, why do I get a feeling that there will be more than a few Mexis turning out…

To Me You Are A Work of Art photo shoot takes place at Dan Smith's Captured Tattoo, 284A S. Prospect Ave, Tustin. Sat., 1-3 p.m. For more info email Yo**********@gm***.com!
