“Nails” Beating? Lenny Dykstra Fingers Jailers

Garden Grove High baseball phenom-turned-felon Lenny Dykstra claims he was beaten by deputies in Los Angeles County Jail.

In fact, the former All-Star outfielder with the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages Wednesday against LA County and several sheriff's employees.

“Nails” claims his head was slammed against a wall, his teeth were knocked out and he was beaten until he was “barely breathing.”

Lenny Dykstra Released from Lockup

… indicates Dykstra served time in LA's celebrity wing alongside Conrad Murray and James DeBarge for auto theft and falsifying financial statements from March through December 2012. He was then transferred to the Victorville Federal Correctional Complex, where he stayed through June 2013 to serve a concurrent sentence for bankruptcy fraud, concealment of assets and money laundering.

I will go to my grave unable to understand prison math: Santa Ana-born Dykstra was originally sentenced to three years in prison.

As for the beating allegations, a sheriff's spokesman claims there had been a struggle but that Dykstra was the aggressor.
