Weekend Wrap-Up: Guerrilla Aid at the Yost, the Studiofix at La Cave

Oh yeah. That's the drummer from Death Hymn Number 9, pounding away at an especially zombie-filled performance Saturday night at La Cave in Costa Mesa. Chris Victorio was there, and he took fun pics like the above, with more to be seen here. The Colourists and the Studiofix also performed (DJ Oldboy spun between sets, also dressed as a zombie, call him “DJ Deadboy”); Chris has got images of all of them. And of course, the Studiofix were the subject of Locals Only this week.

And there's more!

Chris Victorio also checked out the Guerrilla Aid benefit show for Global Colors on Friday at the Yost in Santa Ana. Here are his pics!

He wasn't alone–I was there as well, and it was a pretty neat event. I knew just about nothing about all the organizations involved, and appreciated the education. There was a live “Skype” with a dude in Rwanda that was slightly awkward, but a neat novelty. Yellow Red Sparks and Pawnshop Kings both performed–YRS are always a treat, and it was my first time seeing Pawnshop Kings. I like the thinking outside the box that the Yost is doing with booking their shows, the next day they had a release event for the book The Good Things About America.

And of course, when we're at shows, we love to provide live updates on our Twitter. Read! Follow! Rinse! Repeat!
