Tough Choice: Yeah Yeah Yeahs vs. The Killers

It's battle of the sold-out shows! Two of the genuine biggest artists in rock and/or roll are playing in our coverage area tonight, and tickets to both shows are more scarce than people saying nice thing about last night's premiere of The Jay Leno Show.

At UC Irvine's Bren Events Center, we've got the Killers, who just last fall released Day N Age (read my review here!), which spawned the surely catchy but much-ridiculed lyrically “Human” (y'know, “are we human or are we dancer?”). That show has been sold out for forevs, packing the 5,700-person capacity venue.

Up in downtown P-town, which is almost Orange County (at least according to us), the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are playing the 2,000-capacity Fox Theater Pomona. Yep, that's sold out too. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs also have a new-ish album, their third, It's Blitz (read my review here!). Opening is Yacht, whose See Mystery Lights has been rather well-received by the music criterati.

We don't often have nights like these. So, if you were lucky enough to get into one of these two shows, which was your choice? Let us know. Yeah Yeah Yeahs was our pick, but only because we just saw a full Killers show when they headlined the second day of Coachella (sure, YYYs played there, too, but it was a pretty short set).
