If your just hearing this now, it might be a little late, but oh well. Salsa/soul legend Poncho Sanchez is coming down to The Blue Cafe in Long Beach for another one of his “sorry, you we can't let you in because it's too crowded” performances. Lucky for you, this is probably the last chance you get to hear about it before your forced to do something remarkably less fun tonight.
Known for his packed live shows bolstered with the excitement of a full band, Sanchez has about thirty albums worth of material at his Conga pounding finger tips. He's also joined by a couple other solid bands. In case you want to know what they're all about, you don't have to look much farther than their names. The AZ IS Band (they are what they are and you can't change them) and True Rhythm and Soul (hmmm, a country band maybe?) are joining Sanchez for a night of hips, dips, and dancing. You should probably bring a date. No pressure though. Tickets are $15.
