TONIGHT: Chris Murray Combo Comes to Commonwealth Lounge

They don't come down to OC that often, but when they do, you won't find a better pocket of rocksteady riddims than the Chris Murray Combo. During any given set, this LA trio produces a skank-worthy sound that blends ska, reggae, rocksteady, soul and pretty much any other genre that requires hand clapping and bouncing up and down at a rapid pace (sorry, no Irish folk songs though).

As a performer and producer, Murray does the right amount of due diligence to be a major player in the world of island music. Whether it's touring South America, turning lo-fi Walkman recordings into brilliant albums, or hosting the now-defunct Blue Beat Lounge in L.A., Murray is always on the move. Tonight, he and his band make their first trip to Commonwealth Lounge in Fullerton.
The band is playing two sets from 8p.m.-11p.m. so don't be late (did we mention it's FREE). Sporting a decent dance floor, cool vibes and the best crop of beautiful people that Fullerton has to offer, CW is prime territory for a hot, world-traveled band of rude boys. See how hot things can get during a CMC performance in their music video “Love Flame” after the jump.
