The mother and son arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old woman outside of a Garden Grove home last month have not been charged and are no longer in custody, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s office.
Prosecutors have sent the case involving Sandy Cisneros Liscano, 44, and Adrian Gabriel Liscano, 18, back to the Garden Grove Police Department for more investigation, an OCDA spokeswoman reportedly told the Orange County Register yesterday.
Kellie Louise Nichol of Trabuco Canyon was found shot dead in the front yard of a home in the 13500 block of Purdy Street shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 25.
The Liscanos were arrested about eight and half hours later on suspicion of murder and booked into the Orange County Jail. But Garden Grove Police said at the time that investigators believed an unidentified 19-year-old man was the actual shooter.
He's still at large, according to police.
