Monday Munchies: Apollo’s Fire Rocks

Apollo’s Fire Rocks are arguably the strongest nugs on the (legal) market. Blackberry OG flower wrapped in solvent-less concentrate and sprinkled in a coat of top-shelf indica keif, these dense golden-green nuggets definitely hold the power to send you to Pluto—that is, if you smoke them properly.

Unlike regular nuggetry, you’re not supposed to put Fire Rocks in a grinder. Smoking Fire Rocks takes a little bit of extra time to prepare, but the reward (the high) is definitely worth doing it right. Rather than grinding up the saturated flower it’s recommended to cut or pick them apart with your hands. If you put the Fire Rocks straight into a grinder, the teeth with rip apart the concentrate and keif and most of the good stuff won’t make it into your joint or smoking device.

Once you break up the Fire Rocks, the world’s literally your oyster. You can sprinkle it on some ground up herb and roll it into a joint or blunt, or you can put the broken Fire Rock pieces into a water pipe, like a bubbler or a bong and smoke it by itself. Either way—breaking up the Fire Rocks is the secret to uncovering the power of these compressed, fuzzy looking nugs. And you should expect to get as lit as a birthday cake.

As an avid joint smoker, I rolled my Fire Rocks into an 80 percent sativa hybrid joint. Because the Fire Rocks are basically 100 percent indica and contain around 70 percent THC with .29 percent CBD, smoking it atop an indica-dominant flower is a recipe for a three-day hibernation. Breaking it up with my hands made my fingers ultra sticky, but it made the rolling process pretty easy. Once I lit the joint, the orange ring around the tip of the joint burned slow. In fact, the concentrate-keif joint burned so slow that it went around a group of six-people at least five times. Normally joints don’t go around more than two to three.

The taste of the Fire Rocks was Earthier than normal. It made the joint taste like a heavenly terpene treat. The smell wafting from the joint made the room smell like a mega-skunky green room. If it’s hard for you to get stoned or you need extra heavy doses of THC for medical purposes—Apollo’s Fire Rocks are the best bang for your buck if smoking is your preferred method of ingestion.

As soon as the high set in, I was locked to the couch for the first 50 minutes. And although my eyelids were heavy, my eyes were glued to the TV—and I normally don’t like watching TV. But the Fire Rocks forced me to relax in a way I usually don’t. If you suffer from an overactive mind or insomnia—these whimsical, heavy nug-rocks were made for you.
