Just before 8:25 a.m., the girl was confronted by a man who popped out of a red Toyota Corolla and ran toward her and tried to grab her, but she managed to escape his grasp and run away to safety. The stranger was then seen getting back into the passenger seat of the Toyota, which was driven away by another man.

Witnesses called police, who were given a possible address for the would-be napper in the 1400 block of South Sullivan Street, which is just two blocks from the point of attempted abduction. Rendon was picked up and shown to the girl, who positively identified him as the creeper, according to police.

The Toyota driver remains a wanted man; the red Corolla was said to have a spoiler on the trunk. Anyone with information is asked to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855.847.6226.
