If you grew up in Southern California during the early 1990s, you surely remember the legendary sketchy comedy show In Living Color, the program that launched Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx, David Alan Grier, Jennifer Lopez, and a trillion Wayanses into the stratosphere. Everyone remembers the characters–Fire Marshall Bill, Homey D. Clown, Wanda, the Jamaicans who have a trillion jobs, the old couple who always wanted to kill each other–but one segment that always stuck with me was called “Ray Charles in Charge.” The premise was a commercial parody of that awful Scott Baio show, Charles in Charge, but with Ray Charles as the chaperone, with predictable mayhem occurring.
I remember that segment this morning after reading a story showing that SanTana Mayor-for-Life Don Papi Pulido was at his home while his son hosted a party that involved puking, shitting on lawns, and a possible rape of a teenage girl.

The Voice of OC published the blockbuster story last night, disclosing that the party happened last month at the Don Papi's colonial Floral Park home, with parents officially chaperoning the partying teens but Pulido there at the home. A police report noted a call for sexual assault, but found there was no substance to the allegation within 48 hours. Hmmm…Haidl 3 II? Only time with tell.
And finally, “Ray Charles in Charge,” for old time's sake. God, how I miss that show…
