“All About That Bass”, Meghan Trainor's pop song about self-acceptance, shook-off Taylor Swift's single from its coveted position on Billboard's Hot 100 and is currently No. 1 in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Trainor's rapid success is quite a feat, considering her first commercial album doesn't have a release date yet.
Youtube is already saturated with covers of Trainor's booty-pop single. The hit is actually a demo Trainor was told “re-produce, make it more pop, there's no Auto Tune” by record labels until her current label Epic heard it, liked it, and simply mastered the demo.
Trainor, a 20-year-old songwriter from Nantucket, has been writing songs for national and international acts since she was in high school. She currently resides in Nashville with her cat. Here's what the singer-songwriter had to say about the success “All About That Bass”.
