Today, Clockwork brings you the story of a 65-year-old woman who allegedly drove her car into her fiance in a beach parking lot in Huntington Beach–twice!
Folks, we must bring Verne Joseph Strong and Maureen Geddie together: it's kismet, baby!
Here's how the cops say it went down:
Geddie and her soon-to-be husband got in an argument in the lot at PCH and Sixth Street around 7:45
She then got into her car, backed it
up and struck the unidentified man, knocking him to the ground.
As he got up, she struck him with the car again, and she tried to make it a triple before shocked onlookers
pulled the sap out of the way.
She drove off the lot just as the police pulled up. But when officers approached her at a red light, she gassed it through the intersection, nearly hitting a cop like she did her honey bunny.
Two officers jumped back into their patrol car and gave chase, which ended a short time later when Geddie allegedly ran another red light at PCH and First Street, colliding with another vehicle. She then surrendered to police.
Geddie was booked at the city jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault
with a deadly weapon, hit and run, and driving under the influence of
