Martin Trujillo was found shot to death in the 10900 block of Flower Avenue in Stanton around 10 p.m. Friday.
Orange County Sheriff's investigators say the 30-year-old was a known gang member and that they believe his slaying was gang-related.
However, deputies added the area where Trujillo's body was discovered is not rival gang territory and that he knew the neighborhood well.

The Orange County Register reports Trujillo was jailed Aug. 11 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and was released on Aug. 27.
