A man who is not enrolled at UC Irvine stabbed another man during a fight at a party on campus early today, according to UCI officials.

The victim's wounds are not considered life-threatening, and UCI police are still looking for the 22-year-old suspect, according to the university.

The two men got into a fight over a woman at the party, leading to the stabbing around 1:45 a.m., spokeswoman Cathy Lawhon reportedly told City News Service.

It's unclear if the victim, who witnesses said was stabbed in the chest, is a UCI student.

After the stabbing, the knifeman ran to a car driven off by someone else. Campus police know the suspect, whose name was not released, resides in South Pasadena because that location has already been checked.

He's described as Asian, 5 feet 8, 120 pounds with tattoos on both arms.
