UPDATE, NOV. 24, 4:28 P.M.: A witness to today's incident reportedly says it happened inside a Starbucks and that a patron used a skateboard to defend himself against the man who died.

According to City News Service:
A witness told a reporter at the scene that the man, believed to be in
his 50s, was acting erratically outside the Starbucks and even banged on the
cafe's front window. He then walked into the store and approached a younger man
who was seated at a table. The older man made a comment and then advanced
aggressively toward the younger man, who quickly stood and struck the older man
in the head with a skateboard, the witness said.
ORIGINAL POST, NOV. 24, 2:43 P.M.: A man was beaten to death in Santa Ana this afternoon, possibly with a skateboard, according to police.
The unidentified man–no age or city of residence given–was fatally injured either during a robbery or a fight around 12:30 p.m. at 3345 S. Bristol St., according to Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
The victim sustained at least one blow to the head, possibly from a skateboard, Bertagna added.
The man was rushed to Orange County Global Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, said Bertagna, who notes no arrests have been made.
