Macy Gray

Ah, 1999. The year Y2K scared thousands into stockpiling toilet paper and ammunition; the year George Lucas lost all our respect by introducing Jar Jar Binks to the world; and the year Ford Motors acquired Volvo. Yep, it was a pretty shitty year. Except, wait—what is that captivating sound? It’s like the warm hum of an old record player…why, it’s the lovely Macy Gray, the raspy-voiced vixen who sung her way into our hearts with her 1999 album On How Life Is. To celebrate the 14th anniversary of this fantastic event (one of the better events of the year anyway), Macy Gray performs live at the Coach House. Featuring songs from her aforementioned multi-platinum debut album, and some covers from her new album Covered, Gray will remind us of a simpler time, before the recession, when we still thought Shakespeare in Love was the dopest.
