Luis Quintanilla, 47, had surrendered to authorities on Saturday and was held on $1 million bail heading into the arraignment hearing. Due back in court Dec. 18, Quintanilla faces up to 11 years in prison with a conviction.
He was a contractor driver for DHL between October 2012 and May 2013 when he allegedly stole 10 shipments from Foothill Ranch-based Oakley that were addressed to various U.S. military outposts, according to Senior Deputy District Attorney Marc Labreche.
Quintanilla is accused of having auctioned off the goods intended for troops on eBay, Labreche tells City News Service. The prosecutor was unsure how much Quintanilla made off those alleged sales.
