Friends took the Surf City man to Anaheim Global Medical Center just before 3 a.m. Sunday, and he was then transferred to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.

The Orange County coroner identified the victim as Luis Corrales.

Homicide detectives learned several people had been partying in a commercial area in the 1500 block of West Embassy Street when the shooting occurred, Wyatt said.

Not that the shootings are linked, but three people sitting on a couch were shot through the partially open door of a garage in the 1600 block of South Ivanhoe Street around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Wyatt said.

Two 21-year-old men and a 17-year-old girl were wounded in their lower extremities and taken to a hospital for treatment, but they were expected to survive, Wyatt said.

Anyone with information on either shooting can leave an anonymous tip with Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855.847.6227 (855-TIP-OCCS), via occrimestoppers.org or by texting to 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S) from a cell phone. (All text messages should begin with the letters “OCCS”.)
