If that was the pledge then, what is she doing now being listed as a 'celebrity sommelier' for a bougie-ass wine tasting fundraiser for Support Our Anaheim Resort (SOAR) P.A.C., the very embodiment of a special interest group in the city?
Of course, unlike other pendejos in the city, color us unsurprised on this development.
Kring, who used to own the 'Pop the Cork' wine bar in the second-level graveyard of the GardenWalk before the business closed, is featured on the event flyer alongside councilwoman Kris Murray, Orange County Business Council President/CEO Lucy Dunn, and former Anaheim Mayor/anti-police oversight commission robocaller/whitest man alive Curt Pringle!
The 'Bold Wine with Bold Leaders' fundraiser takes place tomorrow evening at the home of Mitch and Sherry Caldwell in the historic Colony district. Caldwell is a SOAR advisory committee member and President of the Anaheim Neighborhood Association (ANA). The cost of elbow rubbing with Anaheim's elite at his OC crib is set at $100 per person and $175 per couple. Want to really make it rain? Bring five guests at the 'wine snob' sponsor level of $1,000. Ten guests at $2,500 makes you a 'sommelier'–a spiffy term for wine steward. Roll deep with fifteen people as a 'vintner' at $5,000!
For Kring, the supposed independent who rode the endorsement coattails of the now-politically isolated Mayor Tait, this will not be the first time she openly surrounds herself will Anaheim's elite after the November election. She dined with Murray, hotelier Bill O'Connell and Chamber of Commerce friends for a birthday fundraiser at a GardenWalk restaurant in February. Tomorrow evening, she 'pops the cork' with their ilk once more. So much for all that campaign jive on Anna Drive.
As the old saying goes: in vino veritas!
