Long Beach Press-Telegram has the scoop.

“We're very excited about the merger,” editor-in-chief Brenda Duran, who will lead the new title, tells the daily. “We're looking forward to growth for the magazine from this point on.”

Long Beach Magazine had been owned by John Molina, chief financial officer of Molina Healthcare, and his wife Michelle Molina.

The P-T quotes the Molinas saying in a statement they were “honored to have had the opportunity to nurture Long Beach Magazine over the last three years” and were looking forward to seeing the “glories of Long Beach” reach a wider audience.

Most of Long Beach Magazine's staff is gone, including publisher Mark Stevens, who is being replaced by Live Publishing's Susan Magnall, the P-T reports.

Live Publishing's other magazine is LiveOC.
