Only Atlantic City International Airport had lower air fares than Long Beach (LGB), according to the department's Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

“Long Beach Airport provides excellent service to a wide range of destinations at a very economical price,'' Mayor Bob Foster tells City News Service. “LGB is a community asset that makes Long Beach residents proud.”

Airport director Mario Rodriguez noted his facility managed to maintain low fares despite recent upgrades to the new passenger concourse. “It is possible to create incredible quality of service without overpricing the customer,'' he tells the news service.

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics based its findings on the total ticket value, including taxes and fees, at time of purchase. Add-ons, such as baggage fees, were not included.
