Logan James Cunningham Held in Circle K Stabbing Murder of Jason Paul Torres

A domestic disturbance in Long Beach led to a 27-year-old man's arrest for Sunday night's murder at a Santa Ana Circle K convenience store.

Logan James Cunningham of Long Beach is being held in lieu of $1 million bail after being booked into the Santa Ana city jail on Monday, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

Officers from the same department got a call at 9:07 p.m. Sunday about a fight outside the Circle K at 710 Dyer Road escalating into a man being stabbed. Taken to a local hospital where he later died, the deceased has been identified as Jason Paul Torres, 40, of Costa Mesa.

We learned Tuesday that Santa Ana detectives quickly zeroed in on Cunningham as the suspect in the homicide.

Then on Monday, Long Beach police officers were sent to a residence on a domestic disturbance call, and while interviewing Cunningham it was learned he was possibly a suspect wanted in Santa Ana. The Long Beach cops contacted Santa Ana detectives who confirmed Cunningham was being sought for murder.

Cunningham was taken into custody without incident, according to the Santa Ana Police Department, which is still collecting information from the public on the case at 714.245.8390.
